Participation in Workshop « Businesses for Migrants and people with disabilities », Istanbul, Turkey, March 2013

The Workshop was held in Istanbul, Turkey by KAGIDER, B – WCo Turkish partner on 21st and 22nd March 2013. It was attended by 50 individuals per day, 100 in total. The topics covered were:

  • Migrant and disabled labor, existing challenges in employment and entrepreneurship sphere
  • How to Overcome existing Challenges and How to tap on the Opportunities of Migrant and Disabled Labor
  • Empowering the Disabled in Labor Force, Solution Proposals from the Field
  • Case Study Discussion / Case studies & success stories of migrants, disabled people and refugees by Romania, Albania and Serbia
  • Entrepreneurship and Social Entrepreneurship for empowering Migrant and Disabled
  • Entrepreneurship as an economic activity opportunity to overcome existing labor market challenges for disabled people
  • Social entrepreneurship as a means to societal integration of migrants, disabled and refugees
  • Special incentives and support mechanisms for disabled or migrant women entrepreneurs, how to empower them

Special guest speaker in the Workshop was Ms. Lütfiye Kelleci Birer, the President of the Turkish Association for Woman with Disabilities.

The current Workshop includes training materials about the possibilities for establishing businesses from migrants and people with disabilities and their rights and activities in the countries of the Balkan region. The Module includes introductions in the Basic laws in Balkan Region concerning these two target groups and their rights. The workshop is organized during the combined event in Turkey during 2013.
